Arcipelago Film Festival 2012

Our film will be screened in the Eternal City at the Arcipelago Film Festival, on June 17th, 6:30pm at the Casa del Cinema in Villa Borghese, Rome, of course. (The viewing will be held in the Kodak Screening Room).

We’re happy to announce that our film has made it over the Atlantic, selected for screening in the official selection at the Anima Mundi Film Festival, in Rio de Janeiro from the 13th to the 22th of July and then in Sao Paulo from the 25th to the 29th. Brasil, here we come!

Siamo molto contenti di annunciare che il nostro film ha attraversato l’Atlantico, entrando in selezione ufficiale al festival Anima Mundi, a Rio de Janeiro dal 13 al 22 Luglio e a Sao Paulo dal 25 al 29. Brasile, stiamo arrivando!

We hadn’t even begun to feast for our recent win at the Piemonte Movie Festival that more good news came to overwhelm us: we made the Official Selection of Zagreb Animafest 2012. If anyone were in Croatia between the dates of May 29th and June 3rd, be sure to attend a screening of our film!

Non avevamo nemmeno cominciato a festeggiare la recente vittoria al Piemonte Movie Festival che un’altra bella notizia ci ha colto davvero di sorpresa: siamo in Selezione Ufficiale a Zagreb Animafest 2012. We’re happy to let everyone know that Nana Bobò is in the official selection of Piemonte Movie, a film festival taking place in Turin (March 6th/11th).

Our short film will be screened on Friday the 9th, at 18:30 at Il Movie Cineporto, on via Cagliari 42. Cost for the whole short films program: 4€/3.5€

TOO SHORT TO WAIT - SPAZIO PIEMONTE 2012

Nana Bobò, along with other graduating films of 2012, has been selected for the short film contest “TOO SHORT TO WAIT - SPAZIO PIEMONTE 2012” which is going to screen 160 shorts in six days. The contest starts on February 1^stand ends on the 6^th. 30 shorts will pass the selection and will be screened in March during the final part of the Piemonte Movie gLocal Film Festival 2012. Nana Bobò will be screened friday Febrauary 3^rd at 5:00pm at the Sala Il Movie - Cineporto - in via Cagliari 42, Turin. Admittance: €4.

Nana Bobò, assieme agli altri corti della classe di diploma 2012, è stato selezionato dal concorso cortometraggi “TOO SHORT TO WAIT - SPAZIO PIEMONTE 2012” che prevede la proiezione di 160 corti in sei giorni. La sfida inizierà il 1 febbraio per concludersi il 6 con il passaggio dei 30 titoli più meritevoli alla fase finale di marzo del Piemonte Movie gLocal Film Festival, edizione 2012.

Nana Bobò sarà in proiezione venerdì 3 febbraio alle ore 17.00 presso la Sala Il Movie - Cineporto - Via Cagliari 42 a Torino. Ingresso 4 euro.

Andrea Cristofaro was born in Turin on October 18th, 1988. In 2007 he obtains the art diploma at the Primo Liceo Artistico of Turin. During 2008 he attends the graphic course at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts. Driven by the passion for animation, from 2009 to 2011 he studies at the Animation Department of the Experimental Cinematography Center of Turin where he specialises in classical animation production. From 2012 he works at Achtoons in Bologna.

Francesco Nicolò Mereu studied initially in the Painting Department of the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan, continuing his studies at the University of California at Berkeley and graduating in 2008 with a thesis on the Androgyne in the art of the 20th century. The following year he moved to Turin in order to specialise in Animation at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, where he made several shorts with other students and won the First Prize of the Borsalino Contest in 2011 for “In Viaggio”, screened at the Triennale Palace of Milan. He is currently living in London.

Lucas Wild do Vale (1986) becomes a graphic designer in 2007 earning his degree at the Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo Brazil. In 2009 he goes to Italy to study animation and film-making at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Turin, where he concludes the three year course with the graduation film Nana Bobò, earning a degree as a 2D classical animator, in 2011.

Andrea Cristofaro nasce a Torino il 18 ottobre 1988. Nel 2007 consegue la maturità artistica presso il Primo Liceo Artistico di Torino. Durante il 2008 frequenta il corso di grafica presso l’Accademia Albertina di belle arti di Torino. Spinto dalla passione per l’animazione, dal 2009 al 2011, studia presso il Dipartimento di Animazione del Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia dove si specializza nella realizzazione di film d’animazione 2d.

Valentina Delmiglio si diploma al liceo Artistico Umberto Boccioni di Verona, dove sviluppa un forte interesse per il cinema, che approfondisce all’Universtià Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, sede di Brescia, nel corso di laurea Stars (Scienze e Tecnologie delle Arti e dello Spettacolo). Qui si laurea con una tesi/documentario sulla spettatorialità del genere supereroistico tra fumetto e cinematografia. Nel 2009 prosegue i suoi studi nell’ambito del cinema d’animazione, frequentando Il Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, a Torino, dove si diploma nel 2011 con il saggio di gruppo, Nana Bobò, un cortometraggio di circa 4 minuti, realizzato in animazione classica.

Francesco Nicolò Mereu si forma inizialmente nella Scuola di Pittura dell’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, proseguendo i suoi studi all’Università della California di Berkeley e diplomandosi in anatomia artistica con una tesi sul tema dell’androgino nell’arte del ‘900. Al Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia studia Cinema d’Animazione, dove sfrutta le proprie conoscenze artistiche adattandole all’immagine in movimento. Realizza diversi corti in collaborazione con altri studenti, vincendo il primo premio del Concorso Borsalino 2011 con “In Viaggio” proiettato al palazzo della Triennale diMilano. Attualmente vive a Londra.

Lucas Wild do Vale nasce a São Paulo, Brasile, nel 1986. Nel 2007 si laurea come graphic designer presso l’accademia di Belle Arti di São Paulo ma, pur di fare del disegno il suo mestiere, va in Italia per studiare il cinema di animazione presso il Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, sede del Piemonte, dove si diploma nel 2011, con il saggio di diploma collettivo Nana Bobò
